SafeNSmart

Highway Barrier Design

A road barrier that warns approaching drivers about hazards ahead in real time — and lets a fallen motorcyclist walk away from a crash with nothing worse than a few scrapes.

SafeNSmart barrier seen from the driver's seat, its LED wall warning of an accident ahead

The Problem

Today's steel guardrails are one of motorcyclists' biggest complaints. The exposed metal posts beneath the rail turn nearly every crash into a fatal or serious injury: when a fallen rider slides along the ground, they slam straight into those posts.

Riders have publicly protested, demanding “friendly barriers” instead of “killer barriers.” SafeNSmart is an answer to that call.

The Idea

A transparent LED wall sits on top of the barrier. It scrolls its message in the direction of travel, at the same speed as the approaching vehicle, so the warning naturally catches the driver's eye. Beneath the rail, a soft silicone cushion replaces the rigid metal posts.

Accident Scenario

1

The rider enters the bend.

2

Losing grip, the rider begins to fall.

3

The rider meets the silicone wall, which absorbs the impact — slowing and stopping them. Unlike a classic metal-post guardrail, they survive.

HealthCall+

Drone Emergency First-Aid System

A Red-Crescent emergency network that flies life-saving first aid to the scene up to 10× faster than an ambulance stuck in traffic — and doubles as a 24/7 mobile pharmacy.

HealthCall+ neighbourhood health station with an emergency response drone taking off

The Idea

In a traffic accident or serious injury, every minute counts — yet ambulances lose precious time in heavy traffic. HealthCall+ pairs neighbourhood health stations with autonomous drones.

Tap SOS First-Aid Request in the app and a drone launches from the nearest station, reaching the scene about ten times faster than an ambulance.

24/7 Mobile Pharmacy

Between emergencies, each station works as a round-the-clock pharmacy. Scan your ID and pick up essential health supplies at any hour — even when every pharmacy nearby is closed.

HealthCall+ mobile app — welcome screen, SOS request button, and live drone tracking map

The app flow — a welcome screen, one SOS First-Aid Request button, then a live map with arrival times: drone in 2 min versus 17 min for the ambulance.

On the Scene

On arrival the drone opens a case of life-saving supplies — a defibrillator, oxygen mask and first-aid kit.

Its built-in screen connects bystanders to paramedics over live video, while an animated guide walks them through the first-aid steps they can perform until the ambulance arrives.

Aquarion

Walk-on-Water Craft

A single-person hydrofoil craft that turns walking on water into a real workout — glide above the surface on a foil while a built-in treadmill powers you forward.

The Aquarion craft gliding on its hydrofoil above turquoise water

The Concept

Aquarion is designed to get people exercising on the water. Walking on water is a one-of-a-kind experience that builds balance and coordination, brings you closer to nature, and supports overall health and wellbeing.

For Everyone

A key goal is to make the activity accessible to all — opening up fun, socialising and a genuine connection with nature to everyone, whatever their fitness level.

How It Works

01

Manual treadmill — as you speed up, it senses your pace and drives the electric motor to match.

02

Electric motor & rudder — an eco-friendly drive steers the craft wherever you want to go.

03

Hydrofoil — uses the water's lift to raise the craft clear of the surface, for more speed, efficiency, stability and comfort.

ConstructShield

Smart Hard-Hat Safety System

A smart module that clips into the standard slots on any construction helmet — turning an ordinary hard hat into a connected device that watches for danger and calls for help.

Construction hard hat fitted with the ConstructShield module

Senses Danger

Onboard sensors watch for gas leaks, excess heat and impacts to the head — and eye-tracking picks up on fatigue. The moment something is wrong, it alerts both the wearer and their supervisors so action can be taken immediately.

Black Box

When the sensors detect a hazard, cameras on three sides begin recording to a micro-SD card — acting as a black box that captures exactly what happened on site.

Details

01

Slots straight into the industry-standard slots on the sides of any hard hat.

02

A touch front panel — a double-tap turns on the work lights; the visor angle is fully adjustable.

03

Slide the SOS button to call for help, and magnetic connectors pass data between the front and rear parts while allowing free movement.

Inside: a 2000 mAh Li-Poly battery, IMU, PM2.5 gas sensor, AHT10 temperature sensor, camera, buzzer and micro-SD module.

In low light, the built-in work light switches on automatically — keeping the wearer seen and their surroundings lit.

The front arm pivots on a knurled hinge, so each wearer can set it to the angle that suits them.

In an emergency, sliding the SOS button in the top corner instantly sends an alert for help.

An eye-tracking sensor watches for signs of fatigue, alerting both the wearer and their supervisor the moment it's detected.

Cosmic

Air Purifier

A bladeless air purifier inspired by the raw power of space — channelled into a compact, silent and capable device for your room.

Cosmic air purifier with a glowing sun-like ring against a starry backdrop

The Idea

Cosmic takes the unmatched power of the cosmos and brings it home. Its glowing ring plays out celestial scenes — a swirling sun, a full moon, a total eclipse — so cleaning your air becomes something worth looking at.

Three Modes

Stylish, silent and capable, Cosmic runs in three modes — heating, cooling and air-cleaning — controlled from a simple remote.

Three Cosmic units showing the sun, moon and eclipse ring scenes, with the remote

Each mode has its own cosmic scene — a fiery sun, a calm full moon and a glowing eclipse.

Made to Last

Cosmic was designed with the environment in mind — its casing is made from 100% recycled aluminium.

Inside, a stack of filters cleans the air while the bladeless ring pushes it silently into the room.

ISLANBUS · Island Transport

An electric, autonomous public shuttle designed for the character of Büyükada in the Princes' Islands. A transparent solar-panel roof charges the vehicle, while an open, wooden-benched cabin carries passengers in comfort — seating eight, with a dedicated safe space for disabled travellers and an audio screen showing the route.

ISLANBUS details — the single-piece bench cabin, disabled-access section and the interactive island map screen

On Board

1

The single-piece bench seats eight in comfort and includes a dedicated safe-travel section for disabled passengers.

2

An audio screen shows and announces the vehicle's position throughout the trip, with a card reader for ticketing and a single button for emergencies.

SNEL · Disaster Relief

A low-cost, modular station that meets the toilet, sink and shower needs of survivors in the aftermath of a disaster — quick to deploy where sanitation is scarce. A joint project with M. Halid Korkut.

SNEL — a modular yellow sanitation station for post-disaster relief
SNEL details — squat toilet, water connection, fold-out sink, shower and the self-erecting structure

How It Works

1

Survivors get immediate access to a squat toilet.

2

Once conditions allow, the maintenance hatch lifts to connect the water supply.

3

The toilet can be converted to a sit-down (Western) unit when preferred.

4

The fold-out sink is ready to use, draining into the pit below.

5

Pulling a single pin fills the air channels and the structure rises into place.

6

The sink tap detaches and clicks into the shower socket above for a full shower.
